Special Events Communications Manual can now be found at this address:
http://www.arrl.org/FandES/field/spevman/index.html.  It is an excellent resource for ECs and DECs!

ARECC  is "Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Course".  This is part of the ARRL Certification and Continuing Education effort.  You and your ARES Team can take these valuable classes and tests online, or in person once you have certified trainers in your area.  The entire online course and testing cost is $45 for ARRL members and $75 for others. As of August 2003, there are grant dollars available to reimburse successful completion of any of the three levels of the ARECC courses. Details are availalbe on the ARRL web at http://www.arrl.org/cce/.

However, you can learn the material by any means you choose, which includes purchasing the $10 manuals from ARRL HQ; or borrowing them from someone who has already passed; or studying the closely related material found below;  or by using your existing experience.

Next, you can take the exam at an approved test session, just like you would take a license exam.  The cost is $10 per exam and the CE Coordinator, Dan Miller, k3ufg, will send you the certificate when you have successfully completed. Upcoming approved test sessions and local classroom instruction near you can be found at http://www.arrl.org/cce/activity-list.php3

ECom Source Material - "This is the source material for the ARRL's Continuing Education course in Emergency Communication. This material may be copied and freely distributed as long as it is used for educational purposes and not for monetary gain."  -- Pat Lambert, w0ipl, Colorado Section Training Coordinator

Test your Emergency Communications knowledge online!  DEC for District I, Gene Bess, WØGAB, has made  online exams available based upon the ECom material above.  As an ARECC Level III Certified Instructor, he should know!  Do you want to know what you know?  Take these online tests for free!  If you can pass these exams, you have a good chance of passing the ARECC exams.  Contact your local ARRL VE's or check the CI/CE Search Page to locate an existing Certified Examiner.
